THE LAST DAYS VERSUS THE LAST DAY!!!

Our generation does not need the loudest loudspeakers to announce the days we are in today. If a little child of 5 years when asked; what days are we in today?, can be able to say that we are in the last days, then, what more of a person who is above that age.. The truth is that we are in the last days.
It is very intriguing to note that there is a clear-cut difference between the last days and the last day. It is not untrue to say that we are in the last days, but, not true that we are in the last day.
The world we are all living in today has shown clearly beyond all human imaginations the time we are in. Our generation and the happenings have shown that we are in the last days getting ready for the last day. The last days, as a matter of concern was not first spoken of in the new testament, but was first enunciated in the first-book of the bible, “And Jacob called his sons, and said to them: Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you the things that shall befall you in the last days”-Genesis 49:1. If we do not realize that the last days is a preparation for the last day, we would remain focus-less of eternity. Therefore, we must live in this present age with eternity in view.
The truth is that the end times have come. This indeed is the eschatological stage of life. It is evident publicly and not in the hidden that we are in the era of the last days. The true picture of our world today is simply that of the last days, and it is a definite assurance that the Lord Jesus Christ will surely come back again to take those who are His. Wait no more for we are in the last days, prepare very well in these last days for the last day will soon come; work very hard for Christ, because the last day is a moment of reward. It is how well we live our lives in these last days that will determine the reward we are going to get on the last day. Be rest assured that as the last days have presented itself, so will the last day present itself. Beware dear folks of all fields.
What are the proofs of these last days? It is not novel, nor is it breaking news, that we are in the last days. This points out that we cannot escape the last day. The last day affects every individual, both the living and the dead; it is certain and not optional. While several men are sited idle without gaining positive opportunity of the last days, others find it pleasurable to gain positive opportunity of the last days preparing for the last day. This generation is just completely the proof of the last days. A time were, Countries fight one another, famines and earthquakes everywhere, one is arrested and punished for nothing, nations hate believers because of Christ, the love of many wax cold, hatred and betrayal for one another is seen everywhere, many false prophets are all around deceiving people, while those Prophets/Pastors who are trusted are mis-interpreting the bible, evil activities are just spreading everywhere, good is turned for evil, while evil is turned for good. Matt. 24:7,9-12 says,  “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And there shall be pestilences and famines and earthquakes in places.  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall put you to death: and you shall be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be scandalized and shall betray one another and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise and shall seduce many. And because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold”.  The picture of the world today is but the evidence of last days. Not only do we see the above passage as a proof of the last days, but also in 2 Peter 3:3-4 which says, “Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created” These are but few of the proofs of the last days. Who is in Nigeria and don’t understand the time we are in now? Let me proof but a few. The Boko-Haram issue, what does it signify? The fight between one State and the other, what does it signify? The rates at which men crave for messages that would be pleasing to them, what does it signify? The way many believers faith is diminishing to a relatively zero level, what does it signify? Immorality everywhere, what does it signify? False Pastors scattered all around and the men of God turning the bible upside down, what does it signify? What about selfishness, pride, hypocrisy, disobedience, worldly pleasures, the way comedians make mockery of Christ coming, among several others; all these signify the signs of the last days. Be vigilant lest you fall..!
In these era were the signs of the last days are seen everywhere, it indicates that, “All these things are like the first pains of childbirth”-Matthew 24:8. Amidst these pains, the bible says salvation is near, as stated in Luke 21:28 “When these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your salvation is near”. Last days are not period to complain, but to comply by gaining the free gift of salvation that is at hand. It is not a time to gain salvation by our works but by faith in God, and Gods work. It is pertinent to know that it is this salvation coupled with our works for Christ that guarantees our better reward on the last day. Remember, “The last days does not mean the last day, nor does it mean that the last day has come, but it is just a means to the last day”. This can be confirmed in Matt. 24:6, “You are going to hear the noise of battles close by and the news of battles far away; but do not be troubled. Such things must happen, but they do not mean that the end has come”. The last day is certain, but what are we expected to do as we wait for it? First and foremost, in our last days, we must recognize that we are saved to serve. God expect us to evangelize to men throughout the nooks and crannies of the earth about this last day. When this is done, the last day will come. “And this good news about the kingdom will be preached through all the world for a witness to all nations, and then the end will come”-(Matt.24:14). Watch out to this truth that, “No one knows, however, when that day and hour will come-neither the angels in heaven nor the Son; the Father alone knows”-(Matt. 24:36). We must have to be prepared, gain salvation and work tirelessly for Christ these last days as we expect His return, which significantly symbolizes the last day. The last day can be any moment, even now; the last day is the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The bible says, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give everyman according as his work shall be”. (Rev. 22:12). The last days should really prepare us for the last day. The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is a certainty, and not a saying that is subjected to any debate or argument. Jesus Christ has not come now does not mean he has delayed, nor does it mean he will never come back again. As attested in the bible, 1000 years to men is like 1 day to Christ. It just counts on us to be watchful, and to be on guard. The questions to personally answer are; what is my work for Christ at these evil days? What do I hope to be rewarded with on the last day? What will be the measure of my reward on the last day? Will heaven by my eternal home or hell? Remember, ‘all men” shall be rewarded on that day; no one can escape this reward by the rewarder.
There is need to be reminded again that the last days is different from the last day. On that milieu, do not take the last day (coming of the Lord Jesus Christ) for granted like some comedians of today do? God is calling on your attention today so that you can prepare for his coming. He answered his disciples sometimes back when he was advising them as regards the matter of the last days, “Jesus answered, be on your guard, and do not let anyone deceive you” (Matthew 24:4). We must never allow the negative happenings of the last days destroy our crown of glory that we ought to receive on the last day. Never be carried away by the fallacies of men, never buy the ideas from those who said last day will never come, never sit idle without doing anything for Christ on this last days, never close the door of your heart while Jesus is knocking to enter, never be carried away by the pleasures of the world at this last days, never forget that the last days has come and the last day shall come any moment from now, never forget that heaven is real and hell is real, never forget that when Christ comes, you shall be rewarded base on your work you have done, never forget that you will give account of your life here on earth. The rewarder will surely come on the last day like thieve in the night. Are you ready for his coming? Joshua said, “but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord”-(Joshua 24:15b). What about you?
On the last day, many people will weep and clemency will not be accessible anymore. This last day is judgmental in nature, were everyone will give account of his or her life. But these last days we are in today, grace of God is still available, for we are in the dispensation of grace. For you not to be disappointed on the last day, this write-up was written to stir you up on how to prepare for the last day (Christ coming). Jesus Christ was born in these last days (Micah 4:1), lived a righteous and blameless life, died and rose again. This shows that we can live the right life God wants us to live. We must take heed while we have the chance to change our lives for Christ, for when a man dies, such decision to change cannot be taken again. Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now strictly commands all men everywhere to repent, because He set a day in which “He is going to judge the habitable world in righteousness,” by a Man whom He appointed; having given proof to all by raising Him from the dead.(Act 17:30-31). Jesus Christ will surely come, how prepared are you? How are you living your life in this period of the last days?
“The godly and the ungodly, at present, are all mingled together. In the congregation and in the place of worship – in the city and in the field – the children of God and the children of the world are all side by side. But it shall not be so always. In the day of our Lord’s return, there shall at length be a complete division. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye; at the last trumpet, each party shall be separated from the other forever more” – J.C. Ryle
